Canoeing Guide - Whitewater

As of February 2009 Outdoor Discoveries has been accepted as a National Training Provider (NTP) with Australian Canoeing (AC).

We are planning on running a White Water Canoeing Guide Course each year over winter - there will be a three day training only program with assessment taking place a few weeks later.  This course will only run if there if sufficient demand. All training and assessment days are river level dependent. You must be a Flat Water Canoeing Guide or a highly experienced whitewater paddler to enrol - there may be a skills recognition day available for those who are competent but not registered.

Course Structure - Whitewater Canoeing Guide

You will be trained and assessed to meet the requirements of a Canoeing Guide - Whitewater with Australian Canoeing.  You can apply to receive a Statement of Attainment for the units that you are found competent in.  These units together with a current first aid qualification and a logbook of recent guiding experience will allow registration with Australian Canoeing for the award.
